The support role for Early Years Networks (Networks) across Western Australia transitioned to the Department of Communities (Communities) on 30 June 2019.
The transition of the support role for Networks to Communities provides an opportunity for the Departments of Health and Education and the whole of community to help deliver the Bright Future target in the early years.
Early Years Networks across Western Australia play a fundamental role in supporting children and their families. Networks are integral to supporting the State Government’s priority to increase by 10 per cent the number of children who are developmentally on track on all five domains of the Australian Early Development Census by 2027.
The transition of support for Networks to Communities will:
- ensure the sustainability of support to Networks across the state
- provide opportunities for Networks to influence early years policy
- enable stronger linkages between place-based District Leadership Groups and Early Years Networks to influence improved outcomes for children and families.
The Questions and Answers document provides further information about the transition.
If you or your Networks have any queries, please email the Early Years and Parenting Team at Communities EY@communities.wa.gov.au who will respond accordingly.
We look forward to working with you through the transition and into the future.
